Meet Tiffany
At Finca Mālama, Tiffany Janay brings together her work as a holistic practitioner, head chef, and student of naturopathy to create experiences that nourish far more than the body. Her approach is rooted in a simple belief: the ways we eat, rest, relate, move, and care for ourselves shape the quality of our daily lives.
For Tiffany, wellness is not about perfection, restriction, or finding one prescribed way to live. It is about learning to listen more closely to the body, reconnect with nature, and create supportive rituals that can be carried into everyday life. Her work makes room for reflection, curiosity, and the small, meaningful shifts that help people feel more connected to themselves.
At the age of 26, Tiffany felt lost. She knew she wanted to live with purpose, and she knew that purpose did not include a conventional corporate path. She asked the Most High for a vision for her life. Soon after, she received the vision that would become Finca Mālama: a place rooted in land, nourishment, learning, restoration, and community.
Since then, Tiffany has committed herself to bringing that vision to life. Her path has led her to study widely, deepen her own healing work, cultivate leadership skills, and develop the knowledge and practices that allow her to be of service to others. Each chapter has helped prepare her to become a steady, caring presence at the heart of Finca Mālama.
Tiffany has spent much of her adult life as a digital nomad, living in communities throughout the United States. Hawai‘i had a particularly profound impact on her path, strengthening her desire to live closer to the land and move toward a more self-reliant life as a homesteader and organic farmer. That journey eventually brought Tiffany and her husband, Colin, to the hills of Costa Rica, where they are building Finca Mālama as a home, farm, and place of restoration.
As Finca Mālama’s head chef, Tiffany brings the same intention to the kitchen that she brings to her wellness work. Meals are made with care and inspired by what is growing nearby, what is in season, and what helps guests feel genuinely nourished. Food is not simply part of the retreat experience; it is one of its most meaningful rituals—an invitation to slow down, savor, and remember the comfort of being well cared for.
Tiffany’s holistic approach is informed by certifications and training in yoga instruction, plant-based cooking, holistic nutrition, Relationship Standards coaching, yoni steam practice, crystal healing, tantra, live and dry blood-cell analysis, CPR, and Wilderness First Responder training. She continues to deepen her studies in naturopathy, herbology, homeopathy, and Ayurvedic bodywork.
Through private consultations, self-care rituals, herbal offerings, nourishing meals, and group experiences, Tiffany supports guests in exploring the relationship between lifestyle, nourishment, self-awareness, and personal growth. Whether she is preparing a meal from the garden, blending herbs, guiding a wellness session, or creating a quiet moment of reflection, her intention remains the same: to help people feel more connected—to their bodies, to the natural world, and to the life they are creating for themselves.
